Who makes the DAWG app?

DAWG is made by DWG Labs LLC, listed on Google Play at 280 Spear St in San Francisco. It has been on Google Play since April 2025, per AppBrain. DWG Labs also publishes Mio, Trueform and SwingSight, and says its apps have 500K+ downloads, which is the company's own claim.

DAWG appears as DAWG - Discipline & Motivation on the App Store and DAWG - Self Discipline & Focus on Google Play. Both point to the same developer. AppBrain lists 100,000+ Android installs.

How much does DAWG cost compared with The Operator Standard?

DAWG lists $19.99 a month in the US App Store, with annual plans at $34.99, $59.99 or $79.99 depending on the offer you see. The Operator Standard is $49.99 a month or $549.99 a year in the App Store, and $50 a month or $500 a year on its website.

Plan DAWG (US App Store) The Operator Standard
Monthly $19.99 $49.99 in-app, $50 on the web
Annual $34.99 special, $59.99 or $79.99 $549.99 in-app, $500 on the web
Lifetime Not listed $2,500 one-time (web)
Per day on annual about $0.10-$0.22 about $1.37 (web annual)

DAWG's terms say it "may offer different prices, plans, trial lengths, discounts" to different users, so the price on your paywall may differ. The Operator Standard's web annual price is $49.99 cheaper than buying annual inside the iPhone app; see pricing.

Is DAWG free?

Only the download. DAWG is free to install, but its App Store description says a subscription is required to use the app's main features. The Operator Standard works the same way: free download, paid membership. DAWG's US trial is three days; The Operator Standard offers seven days on its 75 HARD finisher page.

Some App Store reviewers complain about hitting a paywall before they could try the app. Those are individual reviews, not a measured pattern, but they match the 'required subscription' wording on the listing.

What features does DAWG have?

DWG Labs' terms list habit and routine tracking, programs and challenges, a lifting tracker, calorie, macro and weight tracking, an AI coaching chat, AI food-photo estimates, journaling and mood tracking, affirmations, an Accountability Mirror camera, breathing exercises, a focus timer, levels and ranks, themes and widgets, and a community feed.

Recent DAWG releases added community mentions and workout templates (version 9.0, April 2026), a nutrition tracker and widget (8.8, March 2026), and a community plus limited-time challenges (8.0, January 2026), per its App Store version history.

What does The Operator Standard do that DAWG does not?

The Operator Standard plans your day from your own goals instead of a challenge menu: ARCANE turns up to three active goals into five critical tasks and writes a morning brief. Misses become strikes your crew can see. It also bundles The MFCEO Project podcast, livestreams and a Lifetime option that DAWG does not list.

  • Goal-first planning: since version 1.42.0 (October 2026) you set a goal in a few screens, and ARCANE fills only the task slots you leave open.
  • Crew accountability: each member shows Not Started, In Progress or Won for the day (version 1.35.0).
  • Weekly progress report: what moved, what slipped and where to focus next.

DAWG goes further on body tracking: it has a lifting log, calorie and macro tracking, and AI food-photo estimates, which The Operator Standard does not list. See the full feature list.

Which one should you pick?

Pick DAWG if you want a cheap, game-like app with preset challenges and built-in fitness and nutrition tracking. Pick The Operator Standard if you already know your goals and need a daily plan, plus people who notice when you skip. If $50 a month is the sticking point, read whether it's worth it first.
